In 1979 Import AUTO CRAFTERS began repairing and refinishing sports cars and trucks at 7th Street and Ash in Tempe, AZ. It continued to perform high quality repairs at this location for eight years. In 1987 the City of Tempe informed Import AUTO CRAFTERS of their plans to renovate the area where Import AUTO CRAFTERS was located. The subsequent move to the new location provided a larger work area and the opportunity to increase sales. In 1993 we received the "Beautification Award" presented by the City of Tempe, and in 1995 we were honored with the "One of Tempe's Most Outstanding Businesses" award, which was presented by the Tempe Chamber of Commerce Small Business Council. In 1998 we expanded our body shop to our present 19,200 square feet. The one acre site will accommodate up to 80 cars in progress. The building itself will house 38 cars. Our storage lot will secure 59 vehicles. An additional 45 spaces are provided for customer drive-in parking. In 1999 a new name for the body shop division was announced in a press release. The name "AUTO CRAFTERS" was chosen to accommodate both the Foreign and Domestic vehicle owners. It was then implemented in both the Service and Body shops. |
